Great podcast this week! Since then, I’ve been on the lookout for a copy of this game. Most of the “retailers” at the local swap meet have a ton of NES games, but haven’t seen a copy of this out in the wild yet. Looking forward to it, keep up the good work!
I Loved the podcast. I love how you guys play the music to in between change the pace.
I played this game when I was a kid and I was puzzled to see the different sprite for the main hero. I never finished the game because it was HARD. I did not know about the cheat code and I was actually able to reach the final boss.
It is a shame that it missed your radar but I am glad that you finally got a chance to play it. I borrowed the game from a friend who was not able to finish the second level.
I loved the theme of the game. It touched on everything that I found to be awesome at the time. I loved the gun selection, the ‘serious’ look of the buildings, and post apocalyptic future.
but most importantly, I loved the boss fights. As a kid, I loved the idea of big bosses. A huge evil chopper is such a fun concept. Here is me doing what I call a “idle dance” before dying a cheap death

Thanks again and I am glad you guys ended up playing this hidden gem.
P.S The japanese version had a beter cover art

Quite simply, a great podcast you have going on here. Take a considerable amount of warmth, knowing that you help make the night shift bearable. Thankyou.
This is a great gaming podcast. I listen to plenty of gaming podcasts; some of the best out there are Giant Bomb, Podcast Beyond, Weekend Confirmed and Retronauts. In my opinion this Podcast can hold its own with any of those. Keep up the good work.
Great podcast guys! I’m slowly working through the backlog of episodes after hearing Kevin on 8-4 play a few weeks ago. My only request: if you give a link to another site (I think this episode you mentioned two different YouTube channels) please provide the link here as sort of a “show notes” section. I usually listen to this on my commute, so I have to remember to go back and try to find the spot where you mentioned the link.
Never heard of this game until I saw this post. And I ran out to my local store during lunch break and picked it up for $30.
The box art is pretty nice still. It could be lazy but it WORKS! 🙂 I can’t wait to try this out.
This podcast is going to be the end of my bank account 😐 I have a lot of catching up to do lol
